Since 1929, Oakes Foundry has produced hundreds of thousands of brass, bronze and copper castings for our customers across a wide variety of industries. Typical bronze casting applications include:
- Manganese Bronze: steel processing, pulp and paper, press and machine tools, valve and pump, processing equipment, mining and dewatering
- Tin Bronze - Leaded Tin Bronze: pump, irrigation, marine, combustion and wear applications

Our 100+ alloys enables Oakes Foundry to match our castings to your specific needs. We will provide you with whatever you require…from a single casting for a product development prototype… to a production run of thousands of parts. As for your patterns, either you can supply them or we will produce them exactly to your engineering drawings…and you can supply those drawings in any of a wide variety of electronic formats. We make either wood or aluminum patterns depending upon the number of castings to be produced.
Graphite inserts give your wear parts highly effective self-lubricated interfaces. Oakes Foundry has extensive experience in producing castings with graphite plugs.
Seven furnaces provide the melting capacity and versatility for Oakes Foundry to supply your production schedule. We have:
- 2-dual track Inductotherm 4,000# coreless induction furnaces
- 2-gas fired 1,800# crucible furnaces
- 3-gas fired 1,200# crucible furnaces
Accurate machining is part of the Oakes Foundry quality control process.
We have more than 50 CNC-N/C and manual machine tools supported by a staff of highly skilled machinists who will mill, plane, turn, bore, drill, broach, thread, grind and polish parts to high tolerances. Our machine tools, equipped with electronic controls, can duplicate parts precisely.
